Alec Sliman, PMHNP-BC

Alec, a Richmond native, studied psychology at James Madison University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. Afterwards, he received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing. Finally, he graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

Professionally, he was employed as a mental health technician for three years at an inpatient psychiatric facility. After graduating from nursing school, he spent over four years as a registered nurse at inpatient psychiatric facilities.

Alec provides patient-centered care to persons aged 18 years and older. He understands the complexity and intense personal nature of psychiatric disorders, and as such, seeks to work together with his patients to develop treatment plans which best suit their individual needs. As an outpatient Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, his role in providing mental healthcare is the empirical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders with medication.
